Multimedia research centre of Pondicherry University offers four courses under Swayam scheme

The Educational Multimedia Research Centre (EMRC) of the Pondicherry University has announced the launch of four courses as part of Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) programme under Swayam scheme, an initiative of Government of India to bridge the digital divide for learning.

Director in-charge, EMRC, M. Shuaib Mohamed Haneef in a release said the PU faculty have developed four courses such as Marine Biotechnology, Photojournalism, Media Laws and Ethics under the Swayam scheme.

These courses feature video lectures, reading materials, self-assessment quizzes, discussion forums, assignments and proctored examination. After completion of the course, the candidates will get certificates and academic credits as per guidelines of the UGC. Altogether, 172 courses were offered on Swayam MOOC platform, he said.

Those interested could register online through Swayam portal for July-December semester. More information could be gathered from Swayam portal at https://swayam.gov.in/.
