Robinhood Markets (NASDAQ: $HOOD) is preparing to bring AI-powered trading agents into crypto, extending a beta product that has already drawn more than 70,000 accounts across equities and options.
The brokerage said U.S. customers will soon be able to connect third-party AI agents that can analyze markets, build strategies and place crypto trades on their behalf. Robinhood has not set a launch date, though customers in the United Kingdom are expected to gain access next.
The setup lets users define a strategy, set spending limits and establish guardrails before handing execution to an agent. Trade activity remains visible inside Robinhood, while the software can rebalance positions and submit orders without requiring approval each time.
More From Cryptoprowl:
“You can work with an agent to create a strategy with specific guardrails and not need to be constantly monitoring your account,” a Robinhood executive said during a Friday presentation.
Robinhood launched the beta in late May through its Model Context Protocol server, allowing agents from platforms including Anthropic, OpenAI and Grok to connect with dedicated brokerage accounts. The company is also expanding agent access beyond trading, including the ability to make eligible credit card purchases.
The rollout also fits into Robinhood’s wider expansion across crypto infrastructure. Robinhood Chain, the company’s Ethereum layer-2 network, processed 17 million transactions from nearly 350,000 wallet addresses during its first week after going live.
AI agents are also beginning to take a larger role across blockchain payments. Coinbase’s x402 protocol has been integrated with Amazon Bedrock AgentCore, while stablecoin projects are building payment tools for software that can transact on its own. Usage remains early, with x402 handling about $2 million in agent-supported volume during June.
Robinhood warns that agents can misinterpret instructions, rely on outdated information and lose the balance assigned to them. Customers remain responsible for every order placed through the account.
Robinhood Markets (NASDAQ: HOOD) stock is trading at $111.99 U.S. per share.
