Focus Financial Network, a registered investment advisor managing $9.5 billion in assets, is pushing into the Mid-Atlantic region with its inaugural East Coast location in Winchester, Virginia.
The firm, which has built its footprint primarily in the Midwest, said the move reflects a broader national growth push. Joining the new office is Jennifer McDonald, QPFC, a 23-year veteran of the wealth management industry who has spent the past 34 years living in Frederick County.
McDonald said she was drawn to the firm’s scale and standing in the industry, along with its backing from Osaic Inc, one of the country’s largest wealth management platforms.
“Joining Focus Financial Network allows me to take my practice to the next level, while continuing to provide a high level of service clients have always received,” said McDonald. “I’m excited about what this means moving forward and the opportunity to continue serving the Winchester community.”
McDonald’s practice centers on financial planning, retirement income and distribution strategy, investment management, and risk management, built around a planning-first approach designed to help clients adjust to shifting life circumstances while building lasting financial security.
Focus Financial Network describes itself as a financial planning firm above all else, and leadership pointed to that alignment as the reason for the hire.
“Jenn’s commitment to financial planning and exceptional client service makes her a natural fit for Focus Financial Network,” said Bina, president of the firm. “As we continue expanding beyond the Midwest, we’re focused on collaborating with experienced advisors who share our planning-first philosophy and long-term commitment to helping clients achieve their financial goals.”
Beyond her practice, McDonald holds the role of Vice Chair on the Winchester Medical Center Foundation Board, where she has volunteered for more than 15 years, and she also serves as a Girl Scout leader. She and her husband, Matthew, have three children together.
